I recently returned from a short trip to San Antonio, TX. Honestly, I had very low expectations - going to a "banking conference" has never been on my list of top 1000 things to do.
I was really worried I might die (or worse - fall asleep next to my client!) during the sessions about industry trends, deposit growth, compliance, etc. Wow - was I wrong. The first session, with speaker Penelope Trunk, was fantastic. She is the "expert" on the Generation Y workforce. Which, by the way, is a generation all businesses want to learn how to reach. It was amazing to hear her perfectly describe Baby Boomers and Gen X'rs. Even more fascinating was her explanation about Generation Y.
What was my greatest take-away from her presentation? A greater understanding of my own generation... Gen X.
