Why You Should Use Video On Your Website
Make your static website come alive with video. Make your products sell faster. Turn your website into a more dynamic experience that will hold and engage a viewer longer. Video can make a site more interactive which helps to keep a visitor's focus on your product or services.
There are many types of videos one can use on a website. A promotional video that explains who you are and what you do would be a good start.
A website tour that tells visitors what they can find on the website, would be another example.Everything from a virtual tour to new product announcements or sales specials.
Take a look at some of the top level sites. Notice the different ways that they use video within the content of their web. For instance, most of the large "build-it" stores will Use video to demonstrate how to install or set up a specific product that they are offering. Say, for example, "How to lay tile flooring" video will be placed close to the various tile flooring that they are offering for sale. In some cases, you might see a video that shows a certain product in action.
How-to videos are some of the most popular videos on the web, and businesses can use them to educate customers about their products. This also helps to cut costs associated with customer service.
You could share your expertise on the products or services you offer by demonstrating your knowledge in a video. When you establish your expertise on a particular topic, you will help create a marketing niche in the industry.
Web video can be comprised of something as simple as a small, short-length clip or expanded in to a full blown video newscast (podcast) that updates viewers on the latest headlines in your business.
What ever the content of your video, the purpose is to drive traffic to your website. Search engines love video. Use targeted keywords when titling and tagging your videos.
Use video to promote a sale or special event. If you are advertising on local TV, you can take that same TV commercial and place it on your website. Remember, every time it is viewed on your website, it is reaching customers at virtually no extra cost per "airing". Video is perfect for showing off new products that you are offering or upcoming specials. Include promo codes within videos to reward viewers.
The use of video on your website can give your business a personal look. In a lot of cases, video will help you stand out from your competition. A short video welcoming visitors to your website can be crucial in setting your business apart from your competitors.
To find out more about the benefits of using video in your website, search the internet for the latest data on web video and see how viewers are embracing it. Talk to your web master about adding video to your site. Surf the web for businesses that are similar to yours and see how they are incorporating videos on their websites. The web evolves daily. Make sure that your site is up to par in appearance with the collective majority of other sites. You will most likely find that video will be an option you will not want to be without.

Learning About The Generations!
I recently returned from a short trip to San Antonio, TX. Honestly, I had very low expectations - going to a "banking conference" has never been on my list of top 1000 things to do.
I was really worried I might die (or worse - fall asleep next to my client!) during the sessions about industry trends, deposit growth, compliance, etc. Wow - was I wrong. The first session, with speaker Penelope Trunk, was fantastic. She is the "expert" on the Generation Y workforce. Which, by the way, is a generation all businesses want to learn how to reach. It was amazing to hear her perfectly describe Baby Boomers and Gen X'rs. Even more fascinating was her explanation about Generation Y.
What was my greatest take-away from her presentation? A greater understanding of my own generation... Gen X.
Stay tuned for my summary of Penelope's keynote.
And... thanks Penelope!

Launching Our Website...Beginning The Blog
This week we launched the company website! Bill built an amazing website - it is vibrant, exciting and informative. We hope you like it.
As we reviewed the site, the team reminded me that I haven't been blogging. Right... So, here we go! As this is the first weekly post, I should introduce the focus of the blogs...
Naturally, we will talk about the benefits of outsourcing marketing/advertising needs to a full service marketing firm and discuss how the many different marketing tools can be incorporated into a marketing strategy to get results. You will also see us talk about our clients, advocate their business events and showcase our team's work.
One might ask... why spend your time blogging about clients?
Answer: We are partners and advocates. That is what really makes our team and our company unique. And, hopefully, you'll see something that might work for your business, too!
Until next week -
Deana
